Time to find a new interim assignment?

We have a wide range of clients and specialize in matching interim assignments with the right competence. With our long experience as interim recruiters, we know how to match competence and assignments with high accuracy.

We assess your profile as an interim manager manager and have a well-designed process to ensure that the competence and experience are at an appropriate level for the positions we fill. During the assignment, we will be with you and support you to ensure that the cooperation with the client is fruitful for all parties involved.

We work with both large and small customers. In most sectors.

The market for interim management

The most common reason for a client to choose an interim solution is to cover a managerial role during a recruitment process. There is often a gap between when someone leaves the company and when a successor is recruited and in place.

Other common reasons include urgently finding a replacement for extended sick leave and bringing in a temporary manager during structural and organizational changes. Our recruitment process, from inquiry to contract with the client, takes about two weeks. From the client’s decision on the candidate to the start of the assignment is usually only a few days. Due to these fast-paced processes, your availability is crucial for being considered for a specific assignment.

The most common interim assignments on the market are in finance, followed by assignments in HR. Companies have fewer opportunities to find internal solutions for these roles and the assignments usually do not require specific industry experience. Interim assignments that are closely linked to the core business are narrower and typically have requirements similar to those for recruiting for permanent positions.

As a candidate, you are most competitive in roles that you have solid experience in over the past 10 years.

This is what our process looks like

Inquiry

The customer describes the assignment and the desired profile. We ensure a common understanding of the assignment and profile.

Search

We search both within and outside our consultant network to find the best candidates.

Quality assurance

We interview interesting candidates and present a few quality-assured profiles to the client.

Customer interviews

The client interviews interesting candidates and selects the final candidate. Reference checking.

Agreements

The customer and Brightmill sign a contract. Brightmill and the consultant sign a contract.

Evaluation

During the assignment, we follow up to ensure that both the client and the consultant are satisfied.

Type of assignment and fees

We have no permanently employed consultants. Instead, we have a network of qualified candidates who are engaged as sub-contractors through their own companies or with fixed-term employments.

Interim assignments are demanding. As a consultant, you enter a new business where you are expected to build trust and deliver results in a short time. Assignments are on average 6 months long.

Brightmill is always the contracting party with the client. We believe in transparency and have an open dialogue about costs and compensation between all parties in an assignment. We disclose the consultancy fee towards the client. This varies depending on the specific role, the length of the assignment and the profile of the consultant. Brightmill’s remuneration is a commission on the consultancy fee.

Timing in interim is a key factor

With us, things move fast. Most assignments we get need to be filled urgently and the recruitment process is usually completed in a few weeks. This means that turnover is high and the assignments we have can vary greatly.

An assignment that is tailor-made for you could come up next week without us knowing it today. Register your interest with us below and our experienced executive recruiters will review and register your profile. Thereafter, we have the opportunity to offer your services to our clients.

We will invite you for an interview as soon as we think we have found a suitable assignment for you. In this way, we use time efficiently.

FAQ about interim assignments

We have clients and candidates all over Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

We never advertise our assignments; instead, we exclusively use search as a tool. For us, it is most efficient because the lead times are very short.

We work on hundreds of recruitment assignments per year. We are one of the leading interim agencies in the Nordics and had a turnover of SEK 140 million in 2023.

There is a wide range of recruitment assignments and we usually manage to fill even the most unlikely assignments, but most common are roles in finance, HR, IT and production.

After 10 years with full focus on interim management, there are few industries we haven’t worked with. In contrast to recruitment companies that specialize in individual industries, we specialize in interim management.

Yes, a large proportion of our assignments are in the public sector, both through framework agreements and direct procurement.

Most of our assignments are line roles and therefore our clients almost always require you to have experience in similar line roles.

We know that this is common with traditional recruitment agencies, but our experience is that it is most effective for both parties to meet when there is a specific assignment to discuss. The reason is that most clients are very specific in their inquiries, making it more productive to discuss based on the specific requirement profile.

No, most of our interim assignments are filled in 1-3 weeks and the time from the client’s decision to the start of the assignment is therefore very short.

You can be confident that we are specialists in search. We have a manual process for validating all new candidates and for managing updated CVs. In particular, we have senior recruiters who use our unique digital platform for interim management when searching and matching candidates to assignments.

Most clients want to sign contracts of 4-6 months, but including extensions, assignments are on average 9 months long.

You don’t need to have a company to take an interim assignment. We also have consultants who have fixed-term employments with us. Most often, the consultant can decide how they want to do it, but sometimes there may be clients who require the consultant to be employed by Brightmill.

We don’t have fixed fee levels; instead, the compensation is determined for each individual assignment in dialogue with the client and the consultant.

No, we specialize in interim placements. In the end, as much as about 15% of our assignments lead to permanent employment, even if that is not the plan from the beginning.
